Just an update on shopping centres and their tenants!

There was a news item yesterday about one of the largest shopping centres in Perth where the management wrote to all tenants saying that they expected the tenants to open for extended shopping hours if they were introduced by the government. Apparently it was a fairly heavy letter seemingly giving shop owners no option.

Over Christmas, a lot of store owners in shopping centres closed early as there was no traffic. The same should apply to the rest of the year - why should owners incur the cost of extra hours if they can't do any business. We'll watch with interest.
