3rd RSS Test Feed Post

Over the weekend I was adding a new feature to my web site / email system and running tests to a small test group of emails.

If you have received an email about this blog post – then it was sent in error and I apologise. Sometimes the best laid plans of mice and men – go astray!

However, the new feature is now installed and fully functional. It will enable me to provide a much better and regular service to everyone in the form of news updates about preparing businesses ready for sale, selling businesses, buying businesses, franchising and of course my rants about shopping centres and franchises!
In future, you will be notified by email of new posts to my web site with a ‘snippet’ of content.
Then, if you are interested in the topic you can click on ‘Read more’ and see the full post on the web site. (Of course, all emails will have an unsubscribe link in them as well if this general topic doesn’t interest you!)
Sorry again for the spurious and confusing email.
Regards

If you received a summary of a post in an email over the weekend, I appologise for this.

Over the weekend I was adding a new feature to my web site / email system and running tests to a small test group of emails. Somehow (finger trouble on my part I believe) the test also went out to my database. Really sorry about that.

The new feature is now installed and fully functional. It will enable me to provide a much better and regular service to everyone in the form of news updates about preparing businesses ready for sale, selling businesses, buying businesses, franchising and of course my rants about shopping centres and franchises!

First SBB Connect Group – Melbourne

It’s been a while since I made a post.

I have been focused on getting our first Streetsmart Business Builders Connect Group launched. A Connect Group is a select group of up to 20 business owners who want to meet regularly for a couple of hours a month to share and learn ideas to enable them to build a business that will run without them.

It is also a way for us to spread the Mal Emery philosophies and millionaire making marketing ideas to more people. All members of a Connect Group get a Mal Emery Midas Touch CD of the month, every month, where Mal grills the worlds leading entrepreneurs (including in Australia) for their success ideas and techniques.

A Connect Group is a working group not a social networking group or a referral group. For more information on Connect Groups in your area, drop me an email.

Baby Boomers Selling Their Businesses

August 2, 2007 by

There has been quite a lot of research done and surveys conducted in to the small and medium sized businesses in Australia and internationally. As I have been telling people now for some time – there is going to be a real growth in the number of businesses being put up for sale. This has been confirmed recently by a new survey. I came across this article recently which I thought you would be interested in. I have added the link at the end of this post.

The article confirms that a large number of business owners, especially those born in the Baby Boomer era, are relying on selling their businesses to fund their retirement. The challenge is that there will be more and more businesses up for sale and less and less buyers. The businesses which will sell at the best price will be those which are best prepared for sale. That’s where we and Streetsmart Business Builders come in to our own. Building businesses for sale and lifestyle. To read the article Click Here!

Job or Business?

Many people tell me that they have their own business. In reality after asking some pointed questions, it often turns out that they in fact are “self employed”. They have a job working for a madman – themselves. For more on this and how my business, Streetsmart Business Builders Pty Ltd can help you, Click Here

So do you have a business or a job? The acid test is “Can you go away for three months holiday and the business still runs without you?” If the answer is no – you have a job, not a business. Stay tuned to the blog for ways to turn your job in to a business – a business that you can sell at the best price, quickly and easily, any time you want to.

Welcome to the DnA Of Business

Dear Reader,

Welcome to Streetsmart Business Builders where we are building businesses for sale and lifestyle.

Someone asked recently “So what exactly do you do?” I replied “We work with business owners to help them build their businesses for sale and for lifestyle. You know, we train them to understand the essential building blocks that give a business life and make it a very successful business.”

When you build and develop a business “with the end in mind” (i.e. to sell the business) then you develop it to run without you being there. This enables the business owner (existing or potential) to have the lifestyle they want. So many business people build their business around themselves and create a JOB (Just Over Broke) rather han a business.

At this blog we will explore all the essential elements that make up a very successful and growing business. A business that has life WITHOUT the owner, so that the owner can cash out and sell at the best possible price, quickly, easily and any time they want to. Alternatively, they can keep the business under management and enjoy a great lifestyle whilst receiving an income from the business.

If you own, or are thinking of owning a business – bookmark this site and come back often. Sign up for the email notifications when a new post goes up. Feel free to make comments. Interact, learn and enjoy.
